Strong Somersfield Showing at National Junior Badminton Tournament
Somersfield Academy hosted the National Junior Badminton Tournament on Saturday, October 11, and Sunday, October 12. The event brought together more than 70 players who competed in over 250 matches across two days. Many Somersfield students participated and earned podium finishes.
Somersfield Hosts Badminton League Opener as First Team Takes Early Lead
Somersfield Academy hosted the opening round of the Senior School Co-Ed Badminton League, welcoming players from across the island. Our First Team sits top of the league after two wins, while the Second Team battled hard in close matches, showing skill, teamwork & sportsmanship.
Somersfield Student Leadership Hosts International Day of Peace Ceremony
Somersfield Academy came together to celebrate its annual International Day of Peace, led by the newly appointed Student Leadership Council. The ceremony featured speeches by SLC President Dezirae Darrell, a moving performance of Songs of Freedom by Ameina Soares, and remarks from SLC Chair Yemaya Iris, highlighting peace, empathy, and inclusion.

Somersfield Earns 19 Medals at BSSF Middle School Track & Field Meet
Our middle school athletes brought home 19 medals from the BSSF Track & Field Meet, showing incredible dedication and sportsmanship over two exciting days of competition. From sprints to throws, their achievements highlight Somersfield's spirit of growth, respect, and personal achievement.
Somersfield Middle School Basketball Teams Finish Strong in BSSF Finals

Somersfield Stays Undefeated with Victory Over Dellwood
Somersfield Academy kept their winning streak alive with a 29-17 victory over Dellwood. Austin Murphy led early, scoring the first three baskets, while Jase Davis finished with 15 points. Strong defence from Maikel DelaCruz, Jack Bull, Mathis Stevens, & John Fontanetta secured the win.
Middle School Boys' Basketball Dominates Whitney 27-6 with Stellar Team Effort
Coaches Tommy Johnson and Scott Roy praised the team for their outstanding leadership and defensive performance in a 27-6 victory over Whitney. The team’s strong defence kept Whitney to under 10 points, showcasing excellent teamwork and effort. It was a fantastic win for the Sharks!
M1–M3 Boys Earn Second Place in Volleyball Tournament
Our M1–M3 boys placed Second in the Middle School Volleyball tournament, defeating Warwick & MSA before a hard-fought final against Saltus. Thank you to Coach Dela Cruz for generously volunteering his time & expertise as Head Coach for our Volleyball teams!
