Somersfield Star Squad Jump onto the World Stage
Somersfield Academy's Star Squad made their mark at the World Jump Rope Championships in Orlando, competing against top teams. Despite being novice jumpers, the students, including Yusef, Toby Gibbons, and Hasna Turner, impressed with their skills and set goals for next year's event.
Somersfield Students Compete at World Jump Rope Championship
Eleven Somersfield Academy students, aged 10-14, are competing in the World Jump Rope Championship in Orlando, Florida. Judged on speed, freestyle, & group techniques, the team was inspired by a February workshop with the Comet Skippers. Coaches Sionna Barto & Irene Pimental lead this exciting effort.
Somersfield Students Lead Clean-Up Effort, Sparking Call for Environmental Action
St George’s North MP Kenneth Bascome advocates for a bottle bill to tackle littering after 50 Somersfield Academy students collected 60 bags of rubbish in a two-hour clean-up from Berry Road to Tobacco Bay. Bascome praised their efforts & called for residents to show more pride in Bermuda's environment.
Somersfield Co-founder Fahy Calls it a Day After a ‘Fabulous 22 Years’
Gwen Fahy, one of the founding teachers of Somersfield Academy, is retiring after more than two decades with the school. The Royal Gazette recently met with Mrs Fahy to discuss her years with the school.She first started as a teaching assistant when it opened as the Montessori Academy at Tivoli in Warwick in 1991.

Excelling in football, basketball, netball, tennis, & track, Leah is also a talented dancer, violinist, & high honours student, showcasing remarkable dedication.
Somersfield Students Explore Science & Nature at Nonsuch Island Camp
Somersfield Academy students joined peers from Cedarbridge & Saltus at the Nonsuch Island Natural History Camp. Supported by local organisations, the camp featured field trips, conservation projects, & lectures, offering hands-on learning in geology, marine ecosystems, & Bermuda’s natural heritage.
