Somersfield Student Shines: Idrees Sharieff Wins Top Prize in Christmas Story Contest
In this year’s Christmas Story competition, 10-year-old Idrees Sharieff from Somersfield Academy won first prize with his dynamic tale of friends saving Christmas from a bah-humbug plot. Fellow Somersfield student Jaciano Furbert-Wade received an honorable mention for his whimsical story of a mischievous skink. The competition saw 103 student and 51 adult entries, highlighting the island’s creative spirit.
Somersfield Plans to Expand
Somersfield has submitted plans for a new two-storey International Baccalaureate Centre (IBC) on its Devonshire campus. The building will add classrooms, a library, and spaces for science and art. Pending approval, construction could begin this summer, with completion set for September, aligning with the school’s growth through its IB programme expansion.
