In March, our school community will come together to celebrate International Day through an exciting range of country studies across all year levels. From January to March, each class will explore a unique country, building global awareness through culture, geography, wildlife, and traditions. Finding Connection Through Graphic Novels: DP1 MAUS Learning Experience
Through MAUS, students moved beyond history into human stories of family, trauma, and survival. Thoughtful discussions led to creative projects such as comics, maps, and newspapers that connected past and present, deepened empathy, and honoured voices and memories that must never be forgotten.

Somersfield Academy is proud of its partnership with LB Football Academy. Led by Leo Burgess, five volunteer coaches deliver inclusive, high-quality lunchtime coaching for P5–DP students, supporting skill development, strong seasons, and a lasting love of the game.
Netball All Stars Deliver a High-Standard Night of Competition
East vs West netball All Stars delivered a high-quality contest at Berkeley Institute. Strong performances from Somersfield players across Middle and Senior School, with sharp shooting, smart linking play, and resilient defence on display in two closely fought matches.
Penalty Shoot-Out Seals Knockout Cup for U13 Boys
The U13 boys defended their Knockout Cup title in a dramatic final, overturning a 2–0 deficit before winning on penalties. A second-half comeback, a hat-trick to level the match, and nerves of steel in the shoot-out sealed back-to-back championships.
Junior JEDI: What It Is and Why It Matters
Junior JEDI is a student leadership group promoting justice, equity, diversity and inclusion at Somersfield. Through peer mentoring, awareness campaigns, and advocacy, members help build a respectful, inclusive campus where student voice and belonging matter.

Our Primary Boys football team put in a strong effort in their semi-final against Saltus, playing with real heart and teamwork. Making it this far is something to be proud of. Thank you to our coaches and the parents who supported and helped on the day.
U13 Boys Advance to the Final After Hard-Fought Semi-Final Victory
Somersfield’s U13 boys earned a 1–0 semi-final win over Francis Patton, securing their place in the final! A strong early goal, solid defence, and confident team play carried the Sharks through. Join us at North Field this Saturday, December 13 at 11:00am to cheer them on. Wear your green and blue!
Somersfield Girls go to Sudden Death in Semi-final Thriller
Somersfield’s Primary Girls delivered a determined semi-final performance against Saltus, battling to a 3–3 draw before falling in sudden-death penalties. With key players out, the team showed impressive resilience, teamwork, and spirit throughout the match.
