U13 Boys Advance to the Final After Hard-Fought Semi-Final Victory

The U13 boys football team won the semi-final vs Francis Patton 1-0 and will play in the final this Saturday, December 13 at 11 at the North Field of the National Stadium. Come along and support the team, wear green and blue and shout for the sharks!

The boys took an early lead through a Shiloh Stevens goal after two minutes. They continued to dominate the first half with multiple chances being saved or barely missing. James Wallace, Mason Smith and Jeremy Ngaruiya were looking dangerous on the wings. Sam Bernardino, Shiloh Stevens and Austen Fagundo were controlling things in the midfield. The backline of Gus Davis, Matthias Gentles, Jason Ngaruiya, Charles Mitchell, Leo Heyland and Charles Smith snuffed out any threats. Goalkeeper Ben Sherratt came in clutch with some saves when he needed to. The substitutes Sethika Fernando, Jack Fullerton and Walker Smith all threatened the goal when they came on.

The rest of the game was tense. Somersfield continued to create chances but couldn't quite convert. Francis Patton also came close to scoring on a few occasions. The defense held firm until the final whistle and the team celebrated as they knew they have the opportunity to become back-to-back champions in the U13 knockout cup!

Thank you to Mr. Wade for refereeing and to the LB Academy coaches for the outstanding work they are doing with our teams this year.
