Netball All Stars Deliver a High-Standard Night of Competition

Monday, December 15 — On Friday night the netball All Stars battled it out for East vs West bragging rights at the Berkeley Institute. Emma Moran-Lee coached the Middle School East team with our volunteer coach Debre Evans, who is also the Bermuda netball captain. Aniah, Cali and Nova were all selected to play on the East Team. It was a great game, extremely close throughout, Cali was the top goal scorer on the team and dominated in both GS and GA. Aniah as WA was key in linking play up and down the court and feeding our shooters. Nova as GK has such great technique, successfully rebounding and blocking shots. Sadly it wasn't quite enough and they lost 5-7. But the team played really well and it was a high quality match which is what the All Stars is all about.

The senior school match was a change on the previous years of East vs West and they mixed up all the schools together. Somersfield players Dezirae, Naomi, Diya and Riley teamed up with Cedarbridge and Warwick and made up the Blue Team that was coached by Samantha Burrows from Warwick. The standard of play was high and everyone played their hearts out till the final whistle. Naomi made key shots as GS and GA, Diya was instrumental as WA linking play and assisting our shooters. Dezirae and Diya were excellent defenders, who faced a lot of pressure but did a great job in halting the opposition, rebounding and intercepting high in the air.
