Primary Boys Football Team Triumphs with a 2-0 Victory over MSA!
The Primary Boys football team celebrated a thrilling 2-0 win over MSA at Somersfield! Congratulations to Samuel Bernardino & Marcus Cann for scoring, & to Benjamin Sherratt for his solid goalkeeping. Thanks to Mr. Wade for stepping in as coach & MYP student Izaiah Atwell for doing an excellent job as referee!
Primary Boys’ Football Victory: 6-2 Win at Home!
Our primary boys' football team showcased their skills in a home match against Francis Patton, guided by Coach Rychus and the Leo Burgess coaching team. The boys played impressively and secured a 6-2 victory! Goal scorers included Jeremy Ngaruiya, Trevor Mills, Samuel Bernardino (2), and Marcus Cann, alongside an own goal from Francis Patton.

The Somersfield Academy Primary Boys A Football team excelled in the East Central Zone Six-a-Side tournament, securing the top spot and advancing to the finals! They won 1-0 against Prospect, 2-1 against Elliot, and drew 0-0 with MSA. Special thanks to Coach Rychus for his dedicated guidance, and kudos to goal scorers Samuel Bernardino and Trevor Mills.
Somersfield Primary Boys Football Team Triumphs 3-2 in League Opener!
Our primary boys football team secured a 3-2 victory in their first league game at Northlands. Goal scorers Marcus Cann, Elliott Nappe, & Maddox Seymour Durham (penalty kick) led the charge. A special thanks to Coach Leo & Coach Rychus for guiding the team. We are proud of the boys' outstanding effort & teamwork!
Primary Division Sports Day Round Up!
On April 16th, 17th, and 18th, the Somersfield Academy field was buzzing with excitement as we hosted our Children’s House, Lower Primary, and Upper Primary sports days. The field was the centre of activity as students competed in a variety of events, supported by enthusiastic family members and friends.
Community Run in Honour of Former Teacher Reid Kempe
The Somersfield Academy community gathers annually for the Reid Kempe memorial run, honouring the beloved former teacher. Led by spirited house captains and teachers, students race a challenging 3-mile route, embodying the competitive yet supportive ethos Kempe instilled. Daughter Zoe, a dedicated participant, cherishes the event as a tribute to her father's legacy and his passion for running. Reflecting Kempe's influence, the run fosters camaraderie and positivity, resonating deeply with participants.
Somersfield Stars Shine at Butterfield Front Street Mile
Six students from Somersfield competed in the most prestigious youth running race on the island, The Butterfield Front Street Mile, with famous local athletes Flora Duffy, Tyler Butterfield and Dage Minors, to name a few, stamping their names in its record books throughout the years.
