Project helps students learn about homelessness issues
Somersfield Academy's M4 students designed shelters for the homeless, learning about the systemic causes of homelessness and engaging with experts from Home. The project aimed to challenge stereotypes and create practical, sustainable solutions for housing, while raising awareness of homelessness in Bermuda.
Get Involved: Help Construct a Mud Kitchen for Our Children's House Division!
The Children’s House Division is excited to build a new mud kitchen at the playground and invites parents and senior students to volunteer. Led by Mr. Russell Peters, Secondary Physics Teacher, volunteers will also help relocate the compost enclosure. Tools provided; mallets welcome. Refreshments included.
U13 Boys Make History with Knockout Cup Win!
Congratulations to the U13 boys football team on their historic 2-1 victory over Warwick Academy in the Knockout Cup final! MVP Cairo Burgess scored both goals, including a last-minute penalty. Thanks to the players, coaches & supporters for their teamwork & dedication.
Writers Young and Older Join in RG Christmas Tradition
Somersfield Academy students celebrated remarkable success in The Royal Gazette’s Stanley Ratteray Memorial Christmas Short Story Contest. Cait Kirwan ‘34 won 1st in the 13 & Under category as its youngest-ever winner. Zarah Siddiqi ‘26 claimed 1st for 18 & Under, with Sophie Farrer ‘31 as a runner-up.

Primary Boys Triumph in Semi-Finals Against Saltus
Our primary boys football team claimed a thrilling 1-0 victory over Saltus in the semi-finals. Trevor Mills scored the decisive goal, supported by stellar defence. Special thanks to Mr. Wade for refereeing & Coaches Shon & Rychus for their guidance. Well done, team!
Sharks Triumph in Thrilling Match!
In a thrilling match on a wet Somersfield field, our primary girls football team defeated Harrington Sound after a 2-2 tie led to penalties. Eva Desjardins excelled as goalkeeper, with key goals from Davi Wade, Aela Fraser, Bella Dill & Eva herself. Our Primary Girls Sharks now advance to face BHS on Monday, December 2!

Somersfield Parent Hosts Fundraiser to Support Equity and Merit Scholarship
Somersfield Parent Fatima Siddiqui, a physician & community leader, is hosting a “Giving Hands” henna fundraiser at the SPTA Holiday Market on 7 Dec. Proceeds support the Equity & Merit Scholarship, empowering future leaders in Bermuda through education.
Somersfield Middle School Netball Team Crowned Bermuda Champions!
The Somersfield Middle School Netball team won the Bermuda championship after a thrilling tournament! They beat Saltus 7-4 in the semifinals & narrowly defeated BHS 6-5 in the final. With skill, teamwork & incredible coaching, the Sharks are now Middle School & U16 Netball Champions!
