Interschool Middle School Track and Field Results - Day 1
Somersfield Academy brought our biggest middle school track & field team since before the pandemic to day 1 yesterday. It was a beautiful day with lots of sunshine and a light breeze blowing down the home straight.
Primary Division Sports Day Round Up!
On April 16th, 17th, and 18th, the Somersfield Academy field was buzzing with excitement as we hosted our Children’s House, Lower Primary, and Upper Primary sports days. The field was the centre of activity as students competed in a variety of events, supported by enthusiastic family members and friends.

In the wake of civil unrest during the 1960s and 1970s, the Pitt Report of 1978 illuminated the need for communal harmony and civic pride.

“Having spent a good deal of my professional life teaching the visual arts, I have a keen interest in what students do. What was impressive about this show was not only the quality of the work, but also the technical variety on display. Not only was there the more traditional paintings and drawings, but also welded sculpture, ceramic sculpture, kites, printmaking (linocuts and serigraphy) and photography, to name a few.”
Secondary Divison Sports Day: A Day of Triumph, Remembrance, and Team Spirit
Somersfield Academy's Senior School Sports Day was a resounding success, graced with perfect weather for competition. Students vied for titles like Champion Boy and Girl, and the rivalry between the Makos and Tigers added to the excitement. M4 students impressed with their coaching and officiating skills, supported by the academy staff.

Somersfield Academy Students Join UN Conference on Gender Equality
Over March break, DP1 students participated in the UNIS UN Conference on Gender Equality in Manhattan. The conference united over 30 schools worldwide. Students engaged in workshops, debates, and panel discussions, hearing from high-ranking diplomats including Ambassadors of Sweden, Iceland, and Malta.

Panama Service and Action Trip a Resounding Success!
Thirty-two M1 – M5 students, six parents and four chaperones set off to Panama on March 19 for a Service and Action Trip to Panama. The group volunteered at the Escuela Bilingüe De El Valle painting and assisting special needs students, playing football games against both the school as well as the local football team. They also made time for cycling, hiking, horse-trekking, and zip-lining, a visit to the old Panama City, the canal and the largest mall in Central America!
