Governor Andrew Murdoch and Education Minister Crystal Caesar attended Somersfield Academy’s M5 Personal Project Exhibition, celebrating students’ year-long independent inquiry. Despite a brief power outage, students presented with confidence, resilience, and impressive depth of learning.

Somersfield Academy was also honoured to welcome esteemed guests including Tinee Furbert, Minister of Youth, Social Development and Seniors; Kim R. Wilkerson, Attorney-General and Minister of Justice; Andrew Pettit, Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Home Affairs; David Roberts, Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Justice; Jache Adams, Minister of Public Works and Environment; Christopher Famous, MP for Devonshire East; and Owen Darrell, Minister of Tourism, Transport, Culture and Sport. Their presence and thoughtful feedback offered students valuable real-world perspectives and professional insight.

Somersfield Makes a Splash at the Cardboard Boat Competition
Four Somersfield teams took on the Institute of Bermuda Architects Cardboard Boat Competition, launching creative boats with three reaching the finish line afloat. It was an exciting day with impressive teamwork, bold efforts, and a few dramatic sinkings.

Somersfield’s 5K Fun Run & Walk was powered by 32 incredible volunteers—marshals, organisers, water station crews & more—who made the event unforgettable. Their spirit turned a race into a true celebration of fitness, community & giving back.
Somersfield Student Leadership Hosts International Day of Peace Ceremony
Somersfield Academy came together to celebrate its annual International Day of Peace, led by the newly appointed Student Leadership Council. The ceremony featured speeches by SLC President Dezirae Darrell, a moving performance of Songs of Freedom by Ameina Soares, and remarks from SLC Chair Yemaya Iris, highlighting peace, empathy, and inclusion.
