Grub day: Relay For Life (Bring $2)
Grub Day to support Somersfield’s Relay for Life team. Join us May 8–9 at the National Stadium. Funds raised support the Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre’s work in cancer education, prevention, early detection and treatment.
Wax Museum
Somersfield’s P6 students will showcase their annual Wax Museum, where they research and embody notable figures. With a button press or catchphrase, these “wax figures” come to life, sharing their stories and achievements. This exciting event highlights research, creativity, and public speaking skills!
SPTA Spring Fair
Join us from 10:00am to 4:00pm for a day of Spring-time fun! Enjoy games, live performances, food vendors, a petting zoo, pony rides, face painting, bracelet crafting, and more. Free admission—bring family & friends to celebrate and support Somersfield!
Grub Day: Duke of Edinburgh (Bring $2)

Somersfield Bermuda Day Parade Float (No School)
Somersfield will take part in Bermuda Day, celebrating Bermuda’s culture, heritage and community spirit and marking the unofficial start of summer. The day features the Bermuda Day Parade with floats and performers.
M3 Community Project Showcase
Join us as M3 students present their Community Projects, highlighting their commitment to service and action. This showcase reflects their exploration of rights, responsibilities, and the impact of giving back. Come see how they are making a difference in the community!
M5 Moving Up Ceremony

Class of 2026 Graduation Day!
Somersfield Academy proudly celebrates the Class of 2026 on their special day! The festivities begin with the Grad Walk, followed by a whole-school Spirit Assembly, bringing our community together to honour our graduates. In the evening, we cap off the celebration with the Graduation Ceremony. Stay tuned for details as we prepare to send off our seniors in style!
Legends vs. Stars Alumni Football & Netball Matches
Join us for the Legends vs. Stars Alumni Football & Netball Matches! Kickoff is at 5:30 pm—arrive by 5:15 pm. After the match, alumni 18+ can gather for a social at 6:30 pm with food and drinks. Don’t miss the action!

85th Annual Agricultural Exhibition (No School)
Somersfield Parents: The Bermuda Agricultural Exhibition runs April 23–25 at the Botanical Gardens. Students attend school on Thursday, but there is no school on Friday. Enjoy exhibits, animals, crafts, food and family activities across the weekend.
Coffee with Riki
Parents are invited to join Head of School Riki Teteina for coffee and conversation. The discussion will include a review of recent Community Survey results, followed by an opportunity to ask questions and engage in open discussion.
Duke of Edinburgh Qualifying Journeys
After months of preparation, students will put their skills into action during the culminating Qualifying Journey, demonstrating independence, resilience, and strong expedition planning.

Join us for the Extended Essay Celebration & Showcase, where DP2 students present their research through summary slides and displayed essays. Families, staff, supervisors, and DP students are invited to an evening of conversation, refreshments, and academic celebration.
Coffee and Learn – P4 Parents Discover Our Upper Primary Programme
Current P4 families are invited to join Janice Outerbridge, Head of Children’s House and Primary, and Heidi Franklin, P6 Teacher for an Upper Primary information session in the DP Lounge. Learn more about what makes the Upper Primary years meaningful, engaging, and developmentally supportive. This session offers valuable insight into what students will experience as they continue their learning journey at Somersfield.
Alumni Playdate
Come reconnect with fellow alumni, let the kids enjoy some outdoor fun, and share a relaxed morning together. Light refreshments will be provided.

10th Annual Reid Kempe Memorial Race
The 10th Annual Reid Kempe Memorial Race is a whole-school tradition that identifies the top eight boys and girls who will represent Somersfield at the Interschool Cross Country. Reid Kempe was a Somersfield teacher, and his life and spirit continue to be honoured through this event.
The run will take place during the school day as an in-school event. Parents are not required to attend.

Join us for a friendly and informative morning designed especially for P1 parents. Meet outside the library with Janice Outerbridge, Head of Children’s House and Primary, to hear a brief overview of our Lower Primary learning approach before heading into small group classroom tours. This is a wonderful opportunity to see the Primary 2 programme in action, ask questions, and experience the learning environment your child will enjoy each day.

Join Charlie Judd and Cathy Schlei in the DP Lounge for an introduction to the Middle Years Programme. Learn how the MYP encourages intellectual curiosity, independence, and global-mindedness. Following the overview, parents will join small group tours of MYP classrooms to see the programme in action. This is a key session for families preparing for the next exciting stage of learning.

Primary Eco-Shopping
Eco-shopping is a fun and sustainable Somersfield Academy tradition where students can browse and purchase gently used toys, books, and games donated by our school community. This reuse-focused event teaches environmentally responsible choices while raising funds for the SPTA. A wonderful way to shop, support, and celebrate together!

Get into the festive spirit at the annual SPTA Holiday Market! Enjoy a fun-filled afternoon of shopping from local vendors, holiday treats, and a special visit from Santa. It’s a wonderful way to support the community and celebrate the season with family and friends. All are welcome!
Children's House Thankful Lunch
Thankful Lunch is a special gathering where our Children’s House learners share a meal with classmates and loved ones to recognise gratitude and community. It is an opportunity for children to reflect on the people and experiences they appreciate, while enjoying delicious food together in a warm, social setting.

Duke of Edinburgh Practice Journeys
Our Bronze and Silver participants will be heading outdoors this November as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Award training. Students will put their teamwork, navigation skills, and perseverance to the test as they take on their respective practice journeys.
