Our DP1 students invite you to the TOK Exhibition on Wed, May 28, 4:00–5:30pm in the DP Lounge. After five years in Bermuda’s only IB MYP, they now explore how we know what we know—connecting abstract ideas to real-world contexts in thoughtful, personal ways.

We will celebrate Bermuda’s rich culture and traditions at our Heritage Month Activity Day! Students will take part in fun, interactive activities that highlight the island’s history, music, and art—stay tuned for more details!

Children’s House Sports Day is almost here, and we need your support! Drop-off is 8:00–8:30, with regular pick-up or an optional half day. Students & supporters should wear classroom colours (Cardinals, Honeybees, Dragonflies, Bluebirds, Longtails) and athletic shoes. Bring sunblock, a labelled hat, water bottle & snack. Parking is available at the front & around the field. Supporters are welcome!

Secondary Sports Day is on Tuesday, April 15, at the Flora Duffy Stadium, NSC. Drop-off is from 8:00–8:30, with pick-up at 3:35. Students and supporters should wear their Makos or Tigers colours and dress festively while ensuring their outfits are comfortable for racing.

The Somersfield Academy DP2 Grad Art Show is the culmination of two years of creativity, exploration, and artistic growth. Showcasing the final works of our DP2 Visual Arts students—Nishika Bisht, Sienna Dill, Stephanie Hardy, Eden Lightbourne, Tyelle Phillips, J’yindae Preece, Gordon Smith, and Taliah Wade—this exhibition highlights their individual artistic journeys and conceptual development.

Thank you to everyone who joined our Town Hall and Coffee Morning! We appreciate the active engagement of our parents, teachers, and stakeholders. The Town Hall sparked nearly 40 questions, and while we couldn’t address them all in the moment, we’ve gathered them for review by senior leadership. Your support and feedback are invaluable!

Our next Coffee with Riki will focus on finances, facilities, and security. Riki will be joined by Dennis Fagundo, Board Chair, and hosted at Milan Milan.

Somersfield Academy is excited to announce scholarship opportunities for students entering between S2/M4 (MYP) to S3/DP1 (Diploma Program) levels for academic year 2025/26. These scholarships are for academically excellent students who have the potential to contribute to global issues, locally. The scholarships will provide financial assistance to eligible and motivated students who embody the values of the school.

International Day at Somersfield Academy is a cherished tradition celebrating our diverse community. With over 40 nationalities represented, it marks the culmination of weeks of cultural exploration. Somersfield Academy invites all parents to our upcoming Town Hall, where we will discuss key topics that shape our school community. To help keep the event focused and running smoothly, please submit your questions in advance before Friday, February 21.

This Montessori Education Week, join us on Wednesday, February 26, for a special Lunch & Learn with Tina Evans from the Montessori School of Lebanon. With over 20 years of experience in Montessori education, Tina will share valuable insights into the Montessori approach.

Get ready to dance! The Primary School Dance will be held on Friday, February 21. Students from P2 and P3 are invited to join the fun from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm, while P4–P6 students can dance from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm. The tickets are $5, and drinks and snacks will be available for purchase. Students are welcome to bring one non-Somersfield guest. We look forward to seeing everyone there for a night of music and fun!

Somersfield’s P6 students will showcase their annual Wax Museum, where they research and embody notable figures. With a button press or catchphrase, these “wax figures” come to life, sharing their stories and achievements. This exciting event highlights research, creativity, and public speaking skills!

Somersfield Academy’s M5 students will showcase their creativity at the Personal Project Exhibition on February 19 in the school gymnasium. The event will highlight diverse projects, from Bermuda’s flora and jewellery making to scuba diving and environmental conservation. Open to the community, it celebrates innovation, inquiry-based learning, and student achievement.

Prospective families are invited to explore the opportunities available in our Secondary programmes during the Open House session in the DP Building. Afterwards, join us for the M5 Personal Project Exhibition—a showcase of student innovation and passion. Witness how our M5 students have transformed their ideas into meaningful, real-world projects.
