Coffee and Learn – P4 Parents Discover Our Upper Primary Programme
- Somersfield Academy 107 Middle Road Devonshire, Devonshire Parish, Bermuda (map)
Thursday, January 29 | 9:00–10:00am | For current P4 families
Current P4 families are invited to join Janice Outerbridge, Head of Children’s House and Primary, and Heidi Franklin, P6 Teacher for an Upper Primary information session in the DP Lounge. Learn more about what makes the Upper Primary years meaningful, engaging, and developmentally supportive. This session offers valuable insight into what students will experience as they continue their learning journey at Somersfield.
Learning goes beyond academics, and school dances offer a safe, structured space for children to build confidence, strengthen social skills, and form friendships. These experiences reflect Montessori principles and Somersfield’s values of independence, curiosity, respect, and meaningful community engagement.
Children’s House Thankful Lunch offered a warm moment of slowing down—shared meals, big smiles, and simple togetherness. Through Montessori practice and CharacterStrong, children learn appreciation in natural, everyday ways. Thank you to all who joined us for this meaningful gathering.
Our Primary Thankful Lunch brought students, teachers, and families together to pause, share a meal, and recognise the good around us. With CharacterStrong’s focus on gratitude this month, our classrooms have been exploring appreciation in meaningful, everyday ways.
Somersfield Academy pauses on Remembrance Day to honour lives lost and lessons learned. In our Montessori–IB community, peace is not just remembered — it is practised daily through empathy, respect, and global citizenship.
Somersfield Academy came together to celebrate its annual International Day of Peace, led by the newly appointed Student Leadership Council. The ceremony featured speeches by SLC President Dezirae Darrell, a moving performance of Songs of Freedom by Ameina Soares, and remarks from SLC Chair Yemaya Iris, highlighting peace, empathy, and inclusion.
