Somersfield Primary Interschool Cross Country Team Shines at Flora Duffy National Stadium
The Somersfield Primary Interschool Cross Country Team competed against other primary schools at the Flora Duffy National Stadium. The races began on the stadium track, continued across the road and around the Arboretum, and concluded back on the track in front of the grandstands.-
Sharks Show Grit in Hard-Fought Battle Against Whitney
The Sharks fell 21-11 to a strong Whitney squad, despite a close 10-8 first half. Proud of the team’s grit, especially the M1s stepping up with key players missing. Freida Valli (M1) & Emily Paulos (M3) led with 4 pts each, Kate Pursell (M2) hit our first 3, & Cali Greenridge (M2) dominated the boards.

In PE, the overall objective is to provide students with the skills, knowledge and attitudes necessary to make active living a way of life. Cooperation, fair play, sportsmanship, teamwork, communication and respect are emphasised at all times.
Middle School Boys' Basketball Dominates Whitney 27-6 with Stellar Team Effort
Coaches Tommy Johnson and Scott Roy praised the team for their outstanding leadership and defensive performance in a 27-6 victory over Whitney. The team’s strong defence kept Whitney to under 10 points, showcasing excellent teamwork and effort. It was a fantastic win for the Sharks!

The Fourth Lesson, the story of the development of the written alphabet is told, with an emphasis on the incredible ability that humans have of committing their thoughts to paper. Included in the story are pictographs, symbols, hieroglyphs, early alphabets, and the invention of the printing press.

A timeline is presented with a tool and a human hand to talk about the three gifts that make humans special: a mind to imagine, a hand to do work, and a heart that can love. This lesson will lead children to study the beginning of civilisations and the needs of early humans.

The Second Great Lesson involves the coming of life. This lesson revolves around the Timeline of Life, a long chart with pictures and information about microorganisms, plants, and animals that have lived (or now live) on the earth. The great diversity of life is emphasised, and special care is paid to the “jobs” that each living thing does to contribute to life on earth.
