Somersfield Academy has dominated Bermuda's badminton circuit, winning four out of five major national titles in 2024–25. With standout players across age groups and expert coaching from Emma Moran-Lee, the school has cemented its place as a rising badminton powerhouse.

Our senior school coed team are officially National Badminton Champions! Our #1 team went unbeaten all season, earning a well-deserved title. Our young #2 team also impressed, finishing 4th against tough competition.

Somersfield Boys Secure 3rd Place Finish in O16 Tournament
Our boys secured 3rd place in the O16 tournament, topping their group with 9 points. They triumphed 3-0 vs BI, 1-0 vs Saltus, & 2-1 vs Berkeley Green, led by standout goals from Grant Reese ’27. A tough 3-0 semi-final loss to Berkeley Gold ended their run, but with a young team, they’re eager for 2025!

Somersfield Academy Launches Bermuda’s First Senior School Coed Badminton League
Somersfield Academy has launched Bermuda's first senior school coed badminton league. In the first round, Somersfield's 1st team claimed the top spot, winning both matches against Warwick. The 2nd team secured a victory against Saltus, earning the second spot. Training continues until the next round on January 14.

Somersfield Hosts Middle School Boys BSSF Badminton Tournament
The BSSF middle school boys badminton tournament took place at Somersfield Academy on Tuesday, May 21. Six schools competed in this exciting event: Whitney Institute, Dellwood Middle School, Sandys Secondary, Warwick Academy, Saltus Grammar School, and Somersfield Academy.

Somersfield Co-founder Fahy Calls it a Day After a ‘Fabulous 22 Years’
Gwen Fahy, one of the founding teachers of Somersfield Academy, is retiring after more than two decades with the school. The Royal Gazette recently met with Mrs Fahy to discuss her years with the school.She first started as a teaching assistant when it opened as the Montessori Academy at Tivoli in Warwick in 1991.
