Under-16 Netball Team Battles to a Thrilling Draw Against BHS
Our Under-16 netball team delivered an electrifying performance against BHS, drawing 14-14 in a suspenseful game. After a 4-4 first quarter, BHS led 5-9 by the second, but our girls stormed back to a 12-10 lead in the third. BHS scored the equaliser on the final buzzer, ending in a tie. MVPs Dezirae Darrell and Heidi Paulos stood out, and special thanks go to alumna Shi-Vaughn Lee for expertly umpiring the match.
Somersfield Middle School Netball Triumphs Over Warwick Academy
Somersfield Academy's Middle School netball teams triumphed in hard-fought league matches against Warwick Academy. The O13s edged out a 9-8 victory with stellar performances from Riley Jones and sharp shooter Milena Millett. The U13s dominated early, ultimately winning 12-8, powered by the dynamic scoring duo Cali Atcheson-Greenidge and Freida Valli.

The Somersfield Academy Primary Boys A Football team excelled in the East Central Zone Six-a-Side tournament, securing the top spot and advancing to the finals! They won 1-0 against Prospect, 2-1 against Elliot, and drew 0-0 with MSA. Special thanks to Coach Rychus for his dedicated guidance, and kudos to goal scorers Samuel Bernardino and Trevor Mills.

Somersfield Student Competes in International Public Speaking Competition
Zarah Siddiqi ‘26 represented Somersfield at the International Independent Schools Public Speaking Competition. The event featured 99 international students from the USA, Canada, and India competing alongside 16 Bermudian students. Zarah showcased her public speaking skills in categories like Parliamentary Debate and Dramatic Interpretation.
Senior Netball Teams Shine in First League Matches
Somersfield Academy’s senior netball league kicked off with impressive performances from both of our teams. The Under 16s secured a 12-6 win against Warwick Academy, while the Over 16s narrowly lost 5-6. MVPs include Dezirae Darrell, Paige Lindo, and Naomi Crofton. Somersfield Middle School Field Hockey Teams Excel at BSSF Tournament
Somersfield's middle school field hockey teams excelled at the BSSF and BHF tournaments on October 16. The girls' team won against MSA Blue and Warwick White, finished third overall after a semi-final loss to MSA White and a win against Warwick White. The Green team claimed second place, winning against Francis Patton and Warwick White, while tying with MSA. The Blue team also secured third place after defeating Warwick Blue. Coaches included Megan Troake and Emma Moran-Lee.
Somersfield’s DP2 Biology Students Join Bermuda Is Love Campaign to Combat Hunger
Somersfield DP2 Biology students participated in the Bermuda Is Love #FoodForLife campaign, volunteering at the First Baptist Church’s Feeding Programme. This initiative, part of their CAS requirements, helped address hunger and food insecurity in Bermuda while promoting sustainable food practices. The experience aligns with the school’s mission to inspire socially conscious, independent thinkers.
