Through MAUS, students moved beyond history into human stories of family, trauma, and survival. Thoughtful discussions led to creative projects such as comics, maps, and newspapers that connected past and present, deepened empathy, and honoured voices and memories that must never be forgotten.

Somersfield Academy presents Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical JR. on Friday, January 31 at 5:00pm and Saturday, February 1 at 2:00pm and 6:30pm in the Somersfield hall. Victorious Finals: U16 & O16 Netball Teams Shine in League Showdown
The U16 & O16 Netball Teams triumphed in their final league games against Saltus. The U16s dominated, winning 19-7, with MVPs Ailey H (GK) & Naomi C (GA). The O16s staged a comeback to win 13-11, led by MVPs Kennedy K (GA) & Nishika B (C). A proud moment for all, marking an emotional farewell for our DP2 players!
Somersfield Academy Under-16 Netball Team Crowned Bermuda National Champions
Somersfield Academy’s Under-16 netball team are Bermuda National Champions after a strong showing at the round-robin tournament on 15 November. With victories over Saltus, Warwick, and Berkeley, and a draw against BHS, the team’s dedication paid off, marking Somersfield’s first-ever netball trophy.
U13 & O13 Girls Netball Teams Secure Thrilling Victories Over Saltus
The U13 Girls Netball Team triumphed over Saltus with an 18-9 win, showing great teamwork and determination. MVPs Elena Bortoli, Cali Atcheson-Greenidge, and Aniah Tucker played key roles. The O13’s also won 14-13 in a thrilling comeback, with strong play in the final quarter securing their victory. Well done, Sharks!
Under-16 Netball Team Battles to a Thrilling Draw Against BHS
Our Under-16 netball team delivered an electrifying performance against BHS, drawing 14-14 in a suspenseful game. After a 4-4 first quarter, BHS led 5-9 by the second, but our girls stormed back to a 12-10 lead in the third. BHS scored the equaliser on the final buzzer, ending in a tie. MVPs Dezirae Darrell and Heidi Paulos stood out, and special thanks go to alumna Shi-Vaughn Lee for expertly umpiring the match.
