Victorious Finals: U16 & O16 Netball Teams Shine in League Showdown
November 26, 2024 — The U16 & O16 Netball Teams played their final netball league games against Saltus today. The under 16s took charge from the start and won 19-7. MVP Ailey H as GK for rebounding and making strong passes out of the circle. Naomi C as GA for her consistent shooting and intercepting of the ball.
The over 16s had a tougher game and were behind by half time. But in true Somersfield style they fought back and took the lead in the 3rd quarter and maintained this advantage until the final buzzer, winning 13-11. MVP Kennedy Kowalski as GA for her incredible reach and balance in the circle scoring many goals. Nishika B as C for her consistent marking and linking play up and down the court.
We are so proud of all the girls — it was an emotional game for the DP2s who have represented the school netball team since M1. End of an era, but what a way to finish!
