Building Futures: Empowering Students through LEGO Design and Technical Skills

Students in M2 have been working to create their own LEGO kits for children ages 9+ in their Design class. They researched the interests of their peers and analysed the work of professions to inspire their own creations. As part of this process, students have been learning to read and create technical drawings, using these to create 3D models in OnShape, a cloud-based professional modelling programme.

Remembering Reid Kempe: Annual Memorial Race Pays Tribute to a Multifaceted Bermudian Icon

The Reid Kempe Memorial Race stands as an annual tribute to a remarkable man who left an indelible mark on the Somersfield community. Edwin James “Reid” Kempe, a poet, musician, teacher, marketer, Olympic sailor, and boat restorer, passed away in August 2015 after a courageous six-month battle with cancer. Remembered not only for his diverse talents but also as a devoted family man survived by his wife Lucia and three children—Justin, Zoe, and Jonathan. Reid Kempe's legacy lives on through this poignant event.
