Somersfield’s DP2 Biology Students Join Bermuda Is Love Campaign to Combat Hunger
Somersfield DP2 Biology students participated in the Bermuda Is Love #FoodForLife campaign, volunteering at the First Baptist Church’s Feeding Programme. This initiative, part of their CAS requirements, helped address hunger and food insecurity in Bermuda while promoting sustainable food practices. The experience aligns with the school’s mission to inspire socially conscious, independent thinkers.

Zarah Siddiqi Shines in WeSpeak Teen Video Competition
Zarah Siddiqi has secured second place in the WeSpeak Teen Video Competition themed “Girls’ Vision for the Future,” alongside Keante Simmons in first and Sophie Kulkarni in third. The competition, inspired by the UN’s International Day of the Girl Child, highlighted the talents of Bermuda's young women, with Zarah’s vision reflecting inclusivity and hope for a brighter, more equitable world.
Designing with Compassion: M4 Students Learn About Homelessness from HOME Bermuda
Local charity HOME visited our M4 Design class to shed light on the realities of homelessness and the challenges of providing shelter for the unhoused in Bermuda. The presenters brought nuance and humanity to a community that is often overlooked. Students will apply the insights gained from this visit to design shelters for vulnerable populations, with their work to be showcased at an upcoming event.
5K Fun Run and Walk: A Day of Fitness, Community, and Support for Education
The Somersfield 5k Fun Run and Walk brought together the community for races ranging from a 400m dash to a competitive 5k run. Olympian and alumnus Tyler Smith presented awards, while proceeds supported the Bursary Fund, reinforcing Somersfield's mission to inspire socially conscious, independent thinkers.

The 2024 5k Somersfield Fun Run and Walk, held on September 29, exceeded expectations with nearly 300 participants! The event brought together students, alumni, families, and the wider community for a day filled with fitness, fun, and school spirit.

When the laminator at Somersfield broke down, it seemed like a minor setback. However, for Aaron Lee ‘28, an M4G student working towards his Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award, it presented an opportunity to put his skills to the test.
