Somersfield’s 5K Fun Run & Walk was powered by 32 incredible volunteers—marshals, organisers, water station crews & more—who made the event unforgettable. Their spirit turned a race into a true celebration of fitness, community & giving back.
Finding Joy in Volunteering: Jo-Rena Davis’s Story
Parent volunteer Jo-Rena Davis shares her journey of getting involved at Somersfield — from classroom story time to serving hot chocolate in the library, and most recently, coordinating the 5K Fun Run. In her own words, Jo-Rena reflects on the joy of supporting teachers, building friendships, and watching her son’s face light up when he sees her volunteering.
Somersfield Student Leadership Hosts International Day of Peace Ceremony
Somersfield Academy came together to celebrate its annual International Day of Peace, led by the newly appointed Student Leadership Council. The ceremony featured speeches by SLC President Dezirae Darrell, a moving performance of Songs of Freedom by Ameina Soares, and remarks from SLC Chair Yemaya Iris, highlighting peace, empathy, and inclusion.

Somersfield proudly celebrates Nico Bean ’26 as our first student to win the Alpha Beautillion. Over six months, Nico excelled in leadership training, public speaking, & community service—embodying our mission to inspire socially conscious, independent thinkers.
