Set to enter its fourth year, this competition serves as a platform for the emerging generation of photographers to showcase their deep connection with Bermuda's natural and cultural wonders, all in honor of the esteemed Dr. Reg Grundy.

Heartbreak and Hope for Students Impacted by Covid-19
Lily Crofts, a student at Somersfield Academy and part of its International Baccalaureate Programme’s inaugural year group, was to have been Belle in the school production of Beauty and the Beast – until Covid-19 forced its cancellation.

Somersfield Students Empower Peers and Promote STEM in Community Projects
Somersfield students showcased their creativity and community impact through the M3 Community Project. Teams addressed various needs, including empowering girls with workshops on art, dance, and writing, and launching a VEX IQ robotics programme at West Pembroke Primary School to promote STEM learning. Their efforts highlighted Somersfield's commitment to inspiring socially conscious, independent thinkers.

Somersfield Student Invited to Southern Honours String Festival
Somersfield Academy student Chrysda Smith, along with other advanced string students, participated in the Southern Honours String Festival, where they had the opportunity to rehearse and perform with students from North Carolina and Virginia. The experience included a masterclass with Violin Professor Marjorie Bagley.

Somersfield Students Recognised for Environmental Filmmaking Excellence on Earth Day
Somersfield Academy students Miles and Macen Outerbridge won the Lower Primary prize for their environmental film Brothers Doing Their Part, while Hailey Hayward earned Best Use of Emotion for Ocean and Sunset at the fourth annual Earth Day Video Competition. Ten films addressed key environmental issues.

Weaving a Rich Tapestry of Artistic Journeys
Somersfield Academy presents Tapestry, a showcase blending dance, gymnastics, music, and visual arts. Highlights include performances by the Somersfield Steel Orchestra, acrobats, singers, and an art exhibition. The event celebrates student talents and arts culture on June 14. Tickets available now!

Tapestry: Weaving a rich tapestry of artistic journeys
Combining the visual arts with the performing arts is not always easy, but Somersfield Academy will attempt to do just that this weekend with a special performance. The event, called Tapestry, will incorporate dance, gymnastics, visual arts, and music.

Young Students Swept by Joyful Tide of Opera
Opera, why opera? Somersfield Academy primary school parents have probably heard this question more than once in the last couple of weeks. Somersfield recently staged an opera with its primary school students as cast members. To pull off this feat they hired Sanford and Judy Jones of Savannah, Georgia who run a company called Youth Opera International out of Savannah, Georgia.

Somersfield’s ‘Harlequin’ Production was a Group Effort
Somersfield Academy hosted the play Harlequin, with Tyler DoCouto and Kate Tobin alternating in the lead role. The production featured stunning costumes, creative set design, and a heartwarming story about friendship and generosity, brought to life by 60+ students under expert direction.
