However, there are many significant voices, particularly those of Black educators, who championed the Montessori method in marginalised communities.

Montessori was one of the first educational theories to spring from direct, ongoing scientific observation of children. Montessori vocabulary serves as a compass guiding educators, parents, and learners alike on the journey towards holistic development.

Developed by Maria Montessori, the Montessori Methodology emphasises a holistic approach to education, focusing on individualised learning and the progression from concrete experiences to abstract understanding.

The Montessori approach has gained recognition for its emphasis on independence, creativity, and holistic development. Surprisingly, some of today's most celebrated individuals have roots in Montessori education, where they began their journey towards success. For Black History Month, we explore seven notable celebrities and how their experiences in Montessori schools helped shape their paths to greatness.
