Students’ view of the world impacted profoundly by Dominican Republic expedition
Twenty-five Somersfield Academy students from MYP 4 and 5 embarked on a service trip to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. They visited local communities and a Haitian refugee camp, reflecting on the joy and resilience of those living in poverty, and how the experience changed their perspectives on happiness.

The Somersfield robotics team, Bermuda's first Lego robotics group, has been invited to the World Championship in Lakeland, Florida. Spelldown champ treats family to DC trip
Nasir Simmons, an M1 Somersfield Academy student and 11-year-old Spelldown champion, won a trip to Washington, DC, where he met basketball heroes from the Washington Wizards and New York Knicks. He also enjoys writing and creating stop-motion films with Lego figures and an iPad app.

Scholarship winners are torch-bearers for Shakespeare
Somersfield Academy students Camila Papadopoulo and Ruggero Barlaba received $1,000 scholarships from the Bermuda Shakespeare Schools Festival. Camila, 14, is wait-listed for New York’s Stagedoor Manor, a renowned acting camp where stars like Robert Downey Jr. trained.

Aldon Campbell Awarded Third Place in Earth Hour Essay Contest
