Somersfield's Jacob Greene Selected for Valencia Youth Academy Training
Jacob Greene of Somersfield Academy is among four talented Bermudian youngsters selected to train with Valencia's youth academy after impressing coaches at the Next Generation VCF Camp. The camp, held in Bermuda, is part of Valencia's growing interest in establishing a permanent academy on the island.
Talented students show off their Biodiversity projects
Somersfield Academy hosted Biodiversity Day, showcasing student projects from all levels. P6 created an energy web displaying 15 Bermuda ecosystems and their species interdependence. Other classes explored Bermuda’s mangroves, coral reefs, African savannas, and the Amazon rainforest's fragility.

Somersfield Academy will present Shakespeare’s ‘Othello’ at the Bermuda Shakespeare Schools Festival, running from October 18 to 20. The tragedy follows the African prince Othello as he grapples with themes of love, jealousy, and racism in a prejudiced society. The festival, showcasing plays from six local schools, highlights student interpretations of Shakespeare’s classics.

Somersfield students help build a carpentry workshop at Peruvian boarding house
Somersfield Academy students and teachers travelled to Peru to build extensions to a boarding house near Cusco, improving conditions for local children. As part of their Community Service curriculum, they constructed walls for a carpentry workshop and stoves for village homes. The success of the trip has inspired plans for future projects in other developing regions.
