Kindness is Infectious: Yusef Bushara ‘18
Since graduation, Yusef Bushara ‘18 has lived in Canada, France and now Hong Kong. Still his biggest takeaway came from his time at Somersfield Academy: In life’s most difficult moments, be kind, always.
Students keep the MLK baton alive
Schoolchildren across the island took part in an event to mark the 50th anniversary of the death of Martin Luther King Jr. The “Passing the Baton” project involved middle and senior-level pupils from a number of Bermuda’s public and private schools.
Somersfield Academy: Dreamers Doers Makers
Somersfield Academy hosted its Montessori & Middle Years Programme Personal Project Exhibition last month. Students showcased their original pieces of work, which included an eco-friendly catamaran, a Spanish children’s book, a documentary on “why we fight”, a model of a sustainable Bermudian home and a series of artworks to help those who struggle with anxiety. They reveal what inspired their projects.
M3 Students Host Charity Walk
Yusef Bushara, Jordan Etemadi, and Morgan Kempe will see their M3 Community Project put into action on Sunday, May 15 with a Family Fun 5K being held for the Bermuda Heart Foundation.
Teens bring families together for charity
Yusef Bushara, Jordan Etemadi, and Morgan Kempe have teamed up for a day of community service, bringing families and friends together in the name of better health. The Somersfield Academy trio set up the Family Fun 5K walk and contacted the Bermuda Heart Foundation as a worthy cause.
Somersfield Students Join Bermy Bouncers for World Jump Rope Championships
Somersfield Academy students, including Yusef Bushara and Charlotte Dinsmore, are key members of the Bermy Bouncers, a performance jump rope team heading to the World Championships in Florida. The team, which includes former Somersfield Star Squad members, showcases impressive athleticism and teamwork.
Somersfield Star Squad Jump onto the World Stage
Somersfield Academy's Star Squad made their mark at the World Jump Rope Championships in Orlando, competing against top teams. Despite being novice jumpers, the students, including Yusef, Toby Gibbons, and Hasna Turner, impressed with their skills and set goals for next year's event.
Somersfield Students Compete at World Jump Rope Championship
Eleven Somersfield Academy students, aged 10-14, are competing in the World Jump Rope Championship in Orlando, Florida. Judged on speed, freestyle, & group techniques, the team was inspired by a February workshop with the Comet Skippers. Coaches Sionna Barto & Irene Pimental lead this exciting effort.
