Somersfield students and staff are joining the Bermuda Sloop Pirates Fundraiser to raise $60,000 for two M3 voyages aboard Spirit of Bermuda. Since 2006, over 8,500 students have gained teamwork, resilience, and hands-on sailing experience. This supports Somersfield’s mission to inspire independent, socially conscious learners.
M5 students took to the water for their first pilot gig row, continuing a Bermudian tradition dating back to the 1600s. The experience builds teamwork and confidence while connecting students to the island’s maritime heritage, reflecting Somersfield’s mission and values.
On Monday March 16, all secondary students took part in our annual Sports Day at the Bermuda National Sports Centre, competing for their houses—Tigers or Makos. Students showcased their skills in track and field events, including sprints, middle-distance races, jumps, and throws. Special mention to the Eoghan Homan Mile, held in memory of former student Eoghan Homan, with winners Jarred Jones and Evelyn Fahy. Congratulations to the Tigers, who claimed overall victory with 1408 points, while the Makos scored 1130 points.
