Somersfield Students Give Back

Somersfield Academy students Gregg Mwangi, Tatum Brewer, and Grayson Toogood have formed community project group Waves of Gratitude. Their goal is to “give back to the people who give in our community”. The students are going to highlight volunteers from various charities and commemorate them for giving back to the community. Somersfield Academy: Dreamers Doers Makers

Somersfield Academy hosted its Montessori & Middle Years Programme Personal Project Exhibition last month. Students showcased their original pieces of work, which included an eco-friendly catamaran, a Spanish children’s book, a documentary on “why we fight”, a model of a sustainable Bermudian home and a series of artworks to help those who struggle with anxiety. They reveal what inspired their projects.

Somersfield students showcased their creativity and community impact through the M3 Community Project. Teams addressed various needs, including empowering girls with workshops on art, dance, and writing, and launching a VEX IQ robotics programme at West Pembroke Primary School to promote STEM learning. Their efforts highlighted Somersfield's commitment to inspiring socially conscious, independent thinkers.

Somersfield Students Launch Robotics Programme at West Pembroke, Bridging Tech Gaps for Bermuda’s Youth

Somersfield students Kairo Morton, Bobby Cooper, and Enoch Richardson are teaching robotics to students at West Pembroke Primary through a 13-week programme called BermyBots. Kairo, who created the initiative, aims to bridge the tech gap between public and private schools. With $6,000 in sponsorship, the boys hope to expand BermyBots into a camp, empowering more Bermudian children with tech skills.
