Teamwork and Tenacity Lead Somersfield Girls’ Football to 3–1 Victory
November 26, 2025 — The Somersfield girls’ football team travelled to Victor Scott School for what proved to be an exciting and hard-fought match. The game began with our girls playing a little tentatively, as nerves were clearly present on the field. Despite the slow start, they demonstrated great teamwork and resilience as the match progressed.
Izzie Branco bravely stepped into goal for the first half and handled the pressure well. In the second half, Molly Morton and Aleisha Siddiqi each took their turn in goal, showing excellent versatility and commitment to the team.
Once Somersfield secured the opening goal—scored by Molly Morton—the team settled into their rhythm. Confidence grew, passes connected more cleanly, and the girls began to take control of the game. In the second half, Myla Desjardins found the back of the net twice with two well-taken goals. Victor Scott continued to battle hard and managed to score one of their own, but our girls held strong.
The final score was 3–1 to Somersfield.
A huge thank-you to Coach Rychus for his excellent coaching, encouragement, and football expertise. The improvement and confidence shown by the girls each week is a direct reflection of his guidance. Thank you as well to the parents who helped with transportation and to all the families who came out to cheer on the team. Your support is always appreciated.
