Primary Girls and Boys Victorious in Harrington Sound Double Header

November 7, 2025It was an action-packed Friday at Harrington Sound as our Somersfield Primary Girls and Boys Football Teams faced off in a thrilling double header!

The girls kicked things off, with the boys eagerly cheering them on from the sidelines. Our girls came out strong against the Harrington Sound team, opening the scoring with a brilliant goal from Aine Fahy, assisted perfectly by Myla Desjardins. Harrington Sound kept fighting, but our girls weren’t done yet — Myla Desjardins added two more goals to secure a fantastic win. Every player gave it their all, and their energy and teamwork were incredible. The final score of the game was 3-0. After the game, the girls went on to cheer their teammates in the boys’ match!

The boys brought the same intensity to the field. William Mitchell opened the scoring, followed by a goal from Trevor Mills, and another from William Mitchel to give Somersfield a strong lead. Remi White made some spectacular diving saves, keeping Harrington Sound at bay as they battled back fiercely. In the second half, Trevor Mills scored again to put us up 4–0. Harrington Sound managed to score twice, but it wasn’t enough to stop our boys from taking the win!  The final score of the game was 4-2.

A huge thank you to Coach Rychus for his fantastic coaching and guidance — his dedication is clearly paying off. Our girls and boys teams showed amazing skill, determination, and team spirit. We can’t wait for the next round of football games!
