MYP Girls BBall: Coach Dani Reflects on an Epic Journey

Good Day Everyone,

As I sit here, having loss in the finals a little while ago, there are so many emotions swirling around, which is normal when you lose. Anger, sorrow... disbelief; still, in the mix of all the emotions is the greatest of them all: JOY. 

Despite our loss tonight, I sit here, and I'm left amazed at the incredible playoff run we put together. Not in Coach Strong, Kevin or my wildest dreams could we have imagined winning EVERY.SINGLE.PLAYOFF GAME and making it to the finals. 

Literally, if you think about, we shouldn't have made it. We had five girls for the majority of the run. Let that sink in.  A team of five girls went on an EPIC run and beat: MSA, Cedarbridge and Saltus. How can we NOT find joy knowing that?

Thus, despite the taste that lingers in our mouth, we stand proud and find joy in knowing that WE MADE HISTORY with the girls.

Somersfield Academy has teams talking about ways to beat us.

 Somersfield Academy made Saltus go into the gym and put in EXTRA work after we beat them to make it to the finals-- their coach's words to me.  

Esteemed colleagues, Somersfield Academy Sports Team(s) is/are here, and we are here to continue to let EVERYONE know that we are LEGIT, and WE WILL be back! 

When you see our girls: Aurelie (absent in final), Naomi, Satya, Taliah, Aaliyah, Rose, Taylor and Dezirae hug them...congratulate them, but most of all: CELEBRATE them on their HISTORY MAKING EPIC run!
