Somersfield’s 2026 BSSF Middle & Senior Hockey Highlights
Our Somersfield athletes took to the field with energy, determination and plenty of school spirit at the 2026 BSSF Hockey Tournaments. Across both the Middle and Senior School competitions, our students demonstrated strong teamwork, resilience and sportsmanship, with some fantastic performances and hard-fought matches along the way. We are incredibly proud of all of our players for representing Somersfield with such enthusiasm and commitment.

Senior School
In the 2026 BSSF senior school hockey tournament, the boys started off strong with a 4-1 victory vs Saltus. Louis Manning and Will Bohus scored two goals each. In their second and final match, the team did not get off to a strong start, conceding an early goal to Warwick Academy. They came back strongly in the second half, but unfortunately were not able to take their opportunities, with the game finishing 1-0 to Warwick Academy.
Louis Manning was the MVP for the boys; he had an assist along with his two goals. Axel Wideman improved the most throughout the tournament, especially on defense.
The girls, playing with no substitutes, had two narrow losses to start the day vs Warwick Academy White and Saltus. In their final game they showed tremendous resolve to come from 1-0 behind and win 2-1 vs Warwick Academy Blue.
For the girls, the whole team could have been MVP. MVP Della Masters was everywhere in midfield and never gave up on a play. Most Improved player Emma Osborne was a leader on the day, always encouraging her team and also making crucial tackles and dribbles.
