BSSF Secondary Football Matches
Saturday, January 18—BSSF All-Star Football action continued with exciting matches for the middle and senior school divisions, showcasing incredible talent and determination from students across the island.
In the Middle School Girls game, Mia Daponte represented Somersfield on the East team. Despite a hard-fought effort, the West team claimed victory with an exciting 4-1 win. Mia scored the lone goal for the East—highlighting her tenacity on the field.
The Middle School Boys match featured Jack Bull, Austin Murphy, and Cairo Burgess, who all displayed impressive teamwork and sportsmanship. Jared Jones, though unable to play due to injury, attended the game to cheer on his teammates. The East team put up a strong fight, but the West emerged victorious with a 2-0 win.
The final match of the day was the Senior Boys game, where the East finally broke the West's winning momentum with a solid 2-0 victory. Matthew Troake and Grant Reese represented Somersfield with exceptional performance and dedication, helping the East to secure a well-deserved win.
