Somersfield Netball Success on the Road

November 6, 2025 — Both our U16 and Over 16 netball teams travelled to Saltus for back-to-back League matches — and returned victorious in both!

Our U16 squad made a strong start, taking an early 4–1 lead in the first quarter and extending it to 7–1 by half-time. Saltus rallied in the third quarter, narrowing the gap to 8–4, but in the final stages our defence held firm and our shooters delivered, securing a confident 14–7 win. Player of the Match: Diya Steede, whose dynamic interceptions and defensive pressure were key to our success.

The Over 16 team battled through a challenging first quarter, tied 1–1 with tough wind conditions making shooting difficult for both sides. By half-time, our athletes found their momentum, pulling ahead 7–3, though Saltus closed in again during the third quarter to 7–6. In the final minutes, our players showed incredible composure and consistent finishing to seal an 11–6 victory. Player of the Match: Naomi Crofton, who showed remarkable versatility across GA, GK and C positions.
