International Day Potluck: What Parents Need to Know

Our International Day is a joyful celebration of culture, language, and community. Below is a clear overview of what the day will look like and how families can participate in the potluck and celebrations.


Event Schedule

8:55am: Country parade into the Gymnasium (prompt start)

9:10-9:45am:

  • Spain (Starfish)

  • Welcome Remarks (Riki Teteina)

  • Switzerland (Dragonflies)

  • World Languages (Secondary)

  • Scotland (Cardinals)

  • Whole School Song “This is Me”

  • Uganda (Snappers) (CH students may leave)

  • Hawaii (Parrotfish)

  • Student Leadership Council Keynote

  • Ireland (Turtles)

  • Phillipines (Coneys)

9:45–10:15am: Families are welcome to visit classrooms

10:15am onward: International Day Food Festival (CH, Primary and Secondary ticket

holders)


Potluck Information for Families

Food Festival

Your food contribution plays an important role in helping students experience the cultures

of our community as they “travel the world” in one day. Please complete the form below to

share details about the food you will be providing.

Food Drop-Off and Labelling Information

Date: Friday, February 27, 2026
Time: 8:00am
Location: Back of the Gymnasium, South Exit

Food Health and Safety

To ensure the health and safety of our entire school community during the whole-school potluck, all food items must be submitted through the designated form in advance. This allows us to account for ingredients, allergens, and food-handling considerations, helping us create a safe and inclusive event for everyone.

Additional Notes

  • Please do not be late as we'll be starting promptly at 8:55 am sharp.

  • Primary and Secondary food service will take place simultaneously, but clearly

  • marked tables.

  • Parents, if you plan to participate in the food festival, please ensure your food

  • contribution is enough for both your children and yourselves to share with up to 6

    people.

  • Secondary students will be connected with a primary class country

  • All Secondary students are to wear either full school uniform or the cultural clothing

    of their connected primary class country or personal heritage.

  • All Secondary students must have a food-service ticket to access the potluck

    ("Pay with your plate").

  • Our DP2 students will be selling drinks (juice, sparkling water, and bottled water) to

    raise funds for their Graduation.

  • Serving utensils will be provided, but containers will have to be taken at the end of

    the event to avoid a donation to the staff kitchen.


Information for Secondary Parents

Secondary students will be connected to a Primary class country and will support the parade and event flow. Feel free to prepare a dish from your country.

    Notes:

    • Secondary students will miss Periods 1, 2, and 3 due to International Day activities.

    • Secondary students must have a food-service ticket to access the potluck.

    • DP2 students will sell drinks (juice, sparkling water, and bottled water).


Additional Notes for All Families

  • Seating arrangements for the Gymnasium will be shared with families during the week of the event.

  • Students will help set up seating in the Gymnasium on the morning of International Day.

  • Parking guidance and on-site support will be available to assist families. Traffic will be directed to the school field. Please leave parking at the front of the school for the elderly and those with toddlers.
