Alumni Brings Somersfield Values to Marketing Internship

Desmond Crockwell’s summer internship at LiveNet Communications is more than just a student placement—it’s a reflection of the values and ambition nurtured at Somersfield Academy.

Now a university student in the UK studying business marketing, Desmond’s journey began in the classrooms and community of Somersfield, where his interest in marketing was sparked early, and strengthened by a school environment that encouraged independent thinking and meaningful engagement with the world.

Desmond’s time at Somersfield included impactful experiences such as the M5 Personal Project and the IB CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) programme—two pillars of the IB curriculum that challenge students to explore their passions while addressing real-world issues. These experiences helped him develop into a socially conscious, independent thinker—skills that now shape his contributions to LiveNet’s marketing team.

At LiveNet, Desmond is bringing that same energy to the company's marketing team, contributing fresh ideas to projects like the upcoming LiveNet Square event. With a strong foundation in ethical marketing and social media strategy, he is well-prepared to make an impact.

We are proud to see a Somersfield alumnus applying his skills with purpose—and continuing to build a career that reflects the spirit of innovation and community he developed here.
