BSSF Honours Bermuda's Top Student-Athletes at Denton Hurdle Awards

June 22, 2012 — The Bermuda School Sports Federation (BSSF) recently celebrated 54 outstanding student-athletes at the 27th annual Denton Hurdle Memorial Awards. The event honours the late Denton Hurdle, a passionate sportsman who attended Warwick Academy, Bermuda College, and Dalhousie University. Hurdle, who later taught at Warwick Academy, excelled in football, cricket, volleyball, and rugby, his greatest passion.

The awards recognise students who demonstrate leadership, sportsmanship, self-discipline, and dedication. Eligible nominees must be in their final year of primary, middle, or senior school.

One standout from the event was Tyler Smith of Somersfield Academy, who received an honourable mention in the middle school boys’ division for his exceptional achievements.

This celebration continues Hurdle's legacy, inspiring Bermuda's youth to strive for excellence in both academics and athletics.
