Somersfield Academy do Middle Schools Hockey double

Somersfield Academy did the double at the BSSF/BHF Middle school hockey tournament by winning both the girls and boys tournaments.

The tremendous day of action started with a skills and drills session led by Bermuda Hockey Federation volunteers followed by a round-robin tournament.

Somersfield went a perfect 4-0 in the boys’ competion. The school defeated Saltus Grammar school 3-0, Warwick Academy 2-1, and thrashed Dellwood Middle School and Mount Saint Agnes 8-0.

Warwick Academy finished in second place with a 3-1 record after beating Saltus 7-0, Dellwood 5-0 and MSA 8-0.

Somersfield also won the girls’ division after finishing with three wins and a draw.

They defeated saltus Grammar School 3-0, Mount Saint Agnes 4-0 and Dellwood Middle School 1-0, while settling for a 1-1 draw with Warwick Academy.

Warwick again finished runners-up with two wins and two draws. They followed their draw with Somersfield with another 1-1 draw with Dellwood before defeating Saltus 2-1 and MSA 6-0.

Saltus defeated MSA 3-1 and Dellwood 3-0. The final match in the round-robin featured Dellwood defeating MSA 3-0.
