Scholar Highlight: Kritik Rangta
Introducing Kritik Rangta, an M3 student at Whitney Institute Middle School and this year’s recipient of Somersfield Academy’s Equity & Merit Scholarship. Kritik’s academic journey began at Bermuda Montessori School, followed by Northlands Primary, where he not only excelled academically but was also voted Head Boy in his final year. His strong leadership skills, coupled with his dedication to learning and helping others, have made him stand out.
Currently in M3 at Whitney Institute, Kritik continues to impress. He’s earned both the Academic Award for the highest GPA in his year group and the Deportment Award for his positive attitude and conduct. He’s also taking extra classes to prepare for IGCSE Math and English exams, further demonstrating his commitment to success. Next year, Kritik will join Somersfield Academy to continue his academic journey.
Kritik embodies Somersfield’s mission, vision, and values in every aspect of his life. His commitment to continuous learning and self-improvement mirrors Somersfield’s vision of preparing students to succeed with confidence and compassion. Through his leadership roles—such as Head Boy and prefect—Kritik exemplifies the values of trust, responsibility, and personal growth, acting as a positive role model for others. His strong sense of responsibility is also evident in his numerous extracurricular activities, where he strives to make a positive impact in his community.
Kritik’s passion for service aligns with Somersfield’s core value of community engagement. His dedication to volunteering, with over 45 hours contributed to causes like K.B.B. cleanups, the Breast Cancer Walk, and sports camps, demonstrates his commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive community. These experiences also highlight his respect for others and his desire to make a meaningful difference, both locally and globally—key aspects of Somersfield’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Looking ahead, Kritik is passionate about law, actuary, or engineering and is already building key skills for his future goals. His involvement in the Minister’s Debate Challenge is helping him improve his communication and leadership abilities, which will serve him well in whatever career path he chooses. These ambitions reflect Somersfield’s focus on cultivating intellectually curious, principled, and open-minded individuals ready to tackle global challenges.
