Inaugural Sports Awards Ceremony 2025 - Results

June 4, 2025 —We held our inaugural Sports Awards Ceremony in the school gymnasium. It was a celebration of a remarkable year in sport. Here, we honoured our student-athletes, their achievements, and the dedicated volunteer coaches who made this possible.

Highlights

  • 47 teams entered into BSSF events this year.

  • 159 secondary students (78%) represented Somersfield in competitive sport.

  • A diverse and successful year across multiple disciplines.

Award Criteria

MIP (Most Improved Player): Awarded to the student-athlete who showed the most growth and embodied the values of a Somersfield student.

MVP (Most Valuable Player): Recognized for individual excellence and leadership, consistency, and elevating team performance.

Athletes of the Year

The Somersfield Academy Athlete of the Year is awarded to the student athlete who throughout the year has demonstrated a deep commitment to Somersfield sports by representing the school in a wide range of sports. Furthermore, while representing Somersfield this student must have embodied the values of sportsmanship, including fair play, teamwork, respect, integrity and humility. The athlete of the year is a student who has developed their talent through hard work, commitment, discipline and perseverance. They lead by example and are an excellent ambassador for the school and role model for others.  The female and male AOY were awarded to the following students.
