Somersfield Shines at Primary Tennis Tournament!
On a scorching and sun-drenched Thursday, June 12, a team of enthusiastic Somersfield primary students headed to the National Tennis Stadium with Ms. Winstanley for an unforgettable day of tennis fun, competition, and team spirit. The energy was high, the courts were buzzing, and our students were ready to rally!
The morning kicked off with a series of exciting tennis skills challenges — from target hitting to racquet skills. Laughter, encouragement, and impressive racquet skills filled the stadium.
In the afternoon, the heat turned up as students stepped into a round-robin tournament format, competing in multiple matches and showing off their growing mastery of the game. Every single player gave it their all, and Somersfield quickly made its presence known with their combination of strong fundamentals and positive attitude. Tournament organisers even remarked on the high level of skill, sportsmanship, and enthusiasm shown by our team.
The tournament ended in an all-Somersfield final showdown, with Cla Valli and Aiden Livingston emerging as champions, while Austen Fagundo and Finn Sapelza claimed a well-earned second place. Among the standout female players of the day, Vivienne Mountford and Aleisha Siddiqi battled their way to a fantastic 4th place overall.
From start to finish, our students represented Somersfield with pride, passion, and integrity — making their mark not just through their results, but through their attitude and teamwork.
Congratulations to the entire Somersfield Primary Tennis Team! You played with heart, hustle, and honour — and we couldn’t be prouder. The future of Somersfield tennis is looking bright!
