Senior School Netball Team Makes Somersfield History

November 21, 2025 — Somersfield’s senior school netball team finished as runners up in the BSSF Netball Tournament — the first time we have ever medalled in this competition. It was a brilliant achievement for a young squad with only one DP2 student, Zarah Siddiqi, and the rest of the team ranging from M4 to DP1. Despite facing older and more experienced sides, our girls rose to the challenge with determination and composure.

We had a great day winning 4 out of our 5 games.
Somersfield Vs Warwick 12-4
Somersfield Vs Cedarbridge 12-8
Somersfield Vs Saltus 8-5
Somersfield Vs BHS 8-7
The only game they lost was to the champions Berkeley in a closely fought game 7-9.

MVP is Dezirae Darrell who played all games and was key in our defence, rebounding and intercepting the ball.
MIP is Sydney Troake for playing both GA and WA, always fighting for the ball and keeping her composure throughout.

Thank you to alumna Ms. Shi-vaughn Lee for coaching the team with Ms. Emma Moran-Lee, we are so grateful for your time and expertise.
