Somersfield’s Primary Netball Team Secures Podium Finish

The primary girls’ netball team has had an exciting few weeks, participating in two tournaments since our last assembly. First, they took part in a friendly tournament at Warwick Academy, where they showcased their skill and teamwork. The team secured impressive wins, defeating BHS 5-0, Saltus 8-1, and Warwick 3-2.

Next, the girls competed in a round robin tournament at Bernards Park. Their performance continued to shine as they triumphed over BHS 4-1, dominated Saltus 11-0, and earned a hard-fought 2-2 draw against West Pembroke. With these results, the team finished first in their pool and advanced to the semi-finals, where they faced BHS once again. Unfortunately, they were outscored 6-2, but their effort and determination remained evident.

In the end, the team finished 3rd overall in the tournament, behind BHS and the champions, Northlands Primary. A fantastic result for the girls, and they continue to improve and work hard for the next challenge ahead!
