Nurturing Brilliance: Unveiling Our Transformative Co-Curricular Activities Programme

In the modern educational landscape, holistic development is the key to nurturing well-rounded individuals. Our school's innovative Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) programme, facilitated by our Activities Director Emma Moran-Lee, stands as a beacon of this philosophy, transcending traditional classroom boundaries to shape students into confident, capable, and resilient beings.

Designed with a vision to unearth hidden talents and instill crucial life skills, our CCA programme offers a diverse array of activities that cater to every passion and interest. From arts and sports to entrepreneurship and community service, students have the freedom to explore and discover their true potential beyond academic realms.

The CCA programme goes beyond mere participation, fostering teamwork, leadership, time management, and discipline. Collaborative projects, inter-house competitions, and mentorship opportunities further enrich the experience, honing invaluable skills that extend far into adulthood.

Beyond personal growth, the programme promotes a vibrant school culture and a strong sense of belonging. Through interactions with like-minded peers and exposure to diverse interests, students forge lifelong friendships and develop an understanding and appreciation for the various talents that make our school community thrive.

In conclusion, our school's Co-Curricular Activities programme is a cornerstone of our commitment to nurturing well-rounded, empowered, and socially aware individuals. It is a platform where passions flourish, skills are honed, and futures are transformed, leaving an indelible mark on both our students and the world they will shape.

Registration

All Full Day to DP2 students will participate in our new co-curricular program on Friday afternoons from 2 pm until the end of the school day (except for a few DP students who will have lessons at this time). There is a wide variety of activities on offer, some have additional costs attached to them due to travel, hire of facilities/specialist instructors and equipment. The sign-up link information will go out the first day of school so that you can discuss the options available with your child prior to the link opening.  It is recommended that you discuss the options available with your child as they will not be able to swap activities once the program starts so it is important that they sign up to something that interests them.

Registration Opens: Sunday, 10th September at 9 am
Registration Closes: Tuesday, 12th September at 11:59 pm

Have ideas?

The co-curricular activities will change each term so your child will get the opportunity to participate in a wide range of activities. If you would like an additional activity to run in the next term (January-March) please email the Director of Activities emoran-lee@somersfield.bm with your ideas and she will see if it can be added in January (Term 2). We are always open to parent volunteers to share their expertise and interests with our student body, and we are very grateful for the parents who have already volunteered to assist with our co-curricular and sports programs for the upcoming school year.
