From Campus to Community: Somersfield Alumni Are Transforming Bermuda's Educational Landscape
Somersfield Academy is producing alumni who make meaningful contributions to our community. One shining example of this is Morgan Kempe, an alumna who has been actively involved in the Bermuda Education Network's (BEN) summer learning programme. This programme focuses on improving the literacy and reading skills of Bermuda’s public school students, providing essential support during summer learning regression.
Morgan Kempe, who is currently studying towards her Teaching degree at Queen's University in Ontario, returned to her alma mater, Somersfield Academy, to give back and gain invaluable experience. As an intern, she worked closely with experienced teachers and supported students from various public schools across the island. Morgan's commitment to the program stems from her belief in its potential to empower students academically and socially.
This commitment reflects a broader trend among Somersfield alumni who are eager to make a positive impact on Bermuda's wider community. Many alumni, like Morgan, are inspired by the values and experiences they gained during their time at Somersfield and are motivated to contribute to the betterment of Bermuda's education system.
The Somersfield campus provides a nurturing environment for learning, and its alumni are carrying forward the institution's legacy of excellence by actively participating in initiatives that benefit Bermuda's youth. Through their efforts, these alumni are not only enriching the lives of students but also strengthening the foundations of their community.
Our alumni continue to play a pivotal role in Bermuda's wider community. Their dedication to education and community engagement is a testament to the school's mission of fostering responsible, compassionate, and motivated individuals who are committed to making a difference in the world. Morgan Kemp's involvement in the BEN summer learning programme is just one example of the positive impact Somersfield alumni are having on Bermuda's future.
