Maya Rajeh ‘23, Returns for Davidson College Talk with DP

The MYP and the DP students were treated to a presentation on Davidson College in North Carolina by Somersfield Alumna Maya Rajeh ‘23 and her roommate Emily Brestle about the Davidson experience.

They presented on student admission first day, all the clubs available, talked about their lessons, schedules and subjects. They conducted an enthusiastic Q&A mini session after their presentation and provided flyers the students who attended.

At Davidson, students immerse themselves and engage with others who have different backgrounds, beliefs, and experiences. It is a community that encourages critical thinking, dignifies hard work, and cultivates enduring relationships. Hallmarks of a Davidson experience include rigorous academics within a fun, and supportive community. The impact of relationships and community are at the heart of the student experience.

Popular academic programs include, political science, biology, economics, psychology, computer science, and English. There are many opportunities beyond the classroom as well, particularly to study abroad, engage in research, and participate in student organizations;  approximately 80% of students participate in at least one of those experiences prior to graduating.
