IB Middle Years and Diploma Programme Open House

All interested families are encouraged to attend the Open House. We will have a brief introduction at 9:00am to our MYP and DP programmes from the Division Head, followed by student-led tours of our classrooms.
The International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) is an 5-year educational programme for students between the ages of 11 and 16 as part of the International Baccalaureate (IB) continuum. Middle Year Programme is intended to prepare students for the two-year IB Diploma Programme.
Head of Secondary Charlie Judd and students Roman Jones, Taliah Wade, and Zarah Siddiqi took to the airwaves with DJ Chubb on Vibe 103 to spotlight Somersfield Academy’s distinctive International Baccalaureate continuum and upcoming Secondary Open House on November 5.
Somersfield DP2 Biology students participated in the Bermuda Is Love #FoodForLife campaign, volunteering at the First Baptist Church’s Feeding Programme. This initiative, part of their CAS requirements, helped address hunger and food insecurity in Bermuda while promoting sustainable food practices. The experience aligns with the school’s mission to inspire socially conscious, independent thinkers.
Local charity HOME visited our M4 Design class to shed light on the realities of homelessness and the challenges of providing shelter for the unhoused in Bermuda. The presenters brought nuance and humanity to a community that is often overlooked. Students will apply the insights gained from this visit to design shelters for vulnerable populations, with their work to be showcased at an upcoming event.
